Chef Alan Cohen

Chef Alan Cohen got his love of food from the other end of the fork. As a paramedic/fireman for the city of Orlando, Florida Alan enjoyed the wide variety of fire house foods that his fellow firemen cooked. He started cooking teaching himself many techniques and creating an elecletic menu that could be made quickly.

When he retired, his love of creating in the kitchen brought him to Walt Disneyworld’s culinary apprentice program. There he learned the art of being a chef from some of the top chef’s in the country.

Chef Alan joined the prestigious Epcot Center’s Culinary Show Team, for three years, and took a team gold in 1988. Since then he has used his talents to design creative menus for such restaurants as La Bella Casa in Ft Lauderdale, The Seven Sisters in Altanta, and Archives in Washington, D.C.

Often he has reinvigorated a resturant bringing it back into profitablility by applying his business knowledge and bringing his creative flair to the property.

Chef Alan has 18 years experience in the culinary industry. He has authored two cook books, one being “Renaissance Faire,” about authentic food of the Renaissance era. He is a stickler when it comes to sanitary working conditions and food quality. He is a certified working chef, holds certificates in nutrition, sanitation and kitchen management. He is the owner of Kosher Connection, a kosher consulting and education firm believing that kosher and fine dining are not mutually exclusive.

He believes that every plate has his “signature” on it. If he can’t sign it — he won’t serve it.
